Solar hot water, also called solar thermal, is one of the most efficient renewable technologies available. Compared to solar photovoltaic (PV) which typically captures no more than 18% of the sun's energy, solar thermal technologies capture 70-80% of the available solar resource. This energy is then transferred directly to heating water which can be used for domestic use, laundry, kitchen, building heating, and even dehumidifying in large spaces.
